Passion of the desert, revisited (Seoul style)

When I saw the recent post, this is what came to mind. And dare I say, yes, its another dislocated connection, yet again. The film is based on a story by Honore de Balzac, and though I never finished watching it (it became boring and a bit disturbing--the original, not Yoni's!), I feel the essence of the story is taking place, as we speak, in a more cosmopolitan reincarnation, Seoul style.
